Brian Badger

September 23, 1957 — March 6, 2018

Brian Edward Badger, 60, of Pleasant Hill, was born, September 23, 1957, in Pontiac, Illinois, the son of Chester Robert Sr. and Helen Marie (Wassenberg) Badger. He departed this life Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at his home surrounded with love and family.

Brian attended Warrensburg High School until 1975 (Class of 1976). He furthered his education earning the degree, Bachelor of Science in Electricity and Electronics, at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg now UCM.

On May 22, 1976, he was united in marriage to Sujamanas Kalayanamitra in Warrensburg until divorced in 1992. On January 1, 2005, he was united in marriage to Teresa Lee (Wainscott) Yost, and resided at their home in rural Pleasant Hill where he loved to work outside in the yard and pester his dog Mercy and his grandchildren.

Brian most recently was a professor of Information Technology, for the Johnson County Community College, retiring for health reasons in March of 2013. Previous to that he taught Electronics at Joe Herndon High School in Raytown, MO. He was owner of Computer Services Group, servicing customers’ computer needs in the Kansas City area; He co-owned Truman Broadcasting which built a wireless tower in Warsaw just south and east of Osceola, MO. Brian worked for Apple Computer carrying the Apple Medallion, selling computers, software and computer supplies to school districts in Missouri. While at Missouri Typewriter, it was his job to install some of the first desktop computers (PCs) in the Kansas City area.

He attended the Big Creek Baptist Church and was an active member of Gideon’s International. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, searching for arrowheads, float trips and camping with friends and family, and keeping up with the latest in electronics.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Gary Reed.

He is survived by his wife Teresa of Pleasant Hill; 4 sons, Anotai (and Rachel) Badger and Panumas (and Lydia) Badger, both of Harrisonville; Jesse Yost and (Andrea Stark) and Lonnie (and Haylee) Yost, both of Pleasant Hill; 1 daughter, Amber (and Aaron) Cram of Aurora, Colorado; 4 brothers, Scott (and Terry) Badger of Warrensburg; Bob (and Betsy) Badger of Dubuque, Iowa; Bruce (and Linda) Badger of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; Jim (and Paula) Badger of Chesterfield, Missouri; 2 sisters, Karen Reed of Wilmington, Ohio, and Brenda (and Mark) Brooks of Warrensburg; 27 grandchildren, Taylor, Rylee, Sydney, Alexis, Levi, Issac, Seth, Luke, Daniel, Kalayana, Ayden, Titus, Corban, Logan, Adara, Ezra, Matthew, Alexander, and Eleanor, Josiah, Zephaniah, Eliah, Selah, Kaylah, Judah, and expecting two more arrivals this year; a host of nieces and nephews and friends both old and new.

Visitation will be held 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2018, at the Stanley_Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2018, at the funeral home. Pastor Greg Cranston will officiate. Interment will be in the Staley Mound Cemetery.
