Obituary for Dan Bruce Beecham

Dan passed away at home in Urich, Missouri with family surrounding him with love and prayers. He was a devoted husband, father, papa, brother and friend.

Dan was born in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to Edward and Ida Beecham. Dan lived in Arkansas as a young boy until the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Dan loved cars as a young teenager and owned two cars before he had a drivers license. He started working for his dad at the the family business, Ed’s Radiator, as a teenager. He worked there for many years until drafted in to the U.S. Army as a Specialist and served in Germany. Upon his return, he worked in the family business until his dad retired and sold the business. Dan then began a long 27 year career with the United States Postal Service in Harrisonville, Missouri.

Dan was preceded in death by his precious spouse Jill, and his Mom and Dad.

Dan is survived by four children, Shannon Beecham (Amy) of Kansas City, Missouri, Rachelle Schoonover (Jim) of Harrisonville, Missouri, Jessie Burns (Justin Anderson) of Raymore, Missouri, Matt Ayler (Patrick Cornelius) of Dallas, Texas, five grandchildren and one on the way, Aiden and Liam Beecham, Natalie and Dane Burns, and Cayden Anderson, a brother Ron Beecham (Donna) of Baldwin City, Kansas and a sister Judy Mills (Roy) of Garden City, Missouri.

Dan will be missed by family and friends, but we rejoice in the assurance he is in heaven with Jill, Mom, Dad, and numerous other family members.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at the Garden City, Missouri Cemetery at 12:00 p.m.

Dan wished in lieu of flowers, you spend time making memories with your family and your grandchildren.

The family thanks Heartland Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Dan, especially in the last three weeks. We are forever grateful.

Arrangements are under the care of Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.
