Jimmy Leon Bartlett, of East Lynne, Missouri was born December 15, 1944 in Gallatin, Missouri the son of Arthur Leon and Martha M. (Stephens) Bartlett. He departed this life on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at his home surrounded by love and family at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 24 days.
On August 13, 1963, Jimmy was united in marriage to Virginia "Ginger" Paulina Rhoades in Lee's Summit, Missouri.
Jimmy was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Local Union #101, Kansas City, Missouri until his retirement in June of 2009. He was a Navy veteran. Jimmy accepted Jesus as his Savior in November of 1973 and attended the United Methodist Church, Warsaw and later the Harrisonville Community Church. Jimmy enjoyed fishing and following his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Callie Lee Derks; a sister, Linda Peniston and two brothers, Ronald and Sherman Bartlett.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Ginger of the home; three daughters, Tammy (Pat) Powers, Harrisonville, Missouri, Tracey Bowers, Lee's Summit, Missouri, Jamey (Eric) Derks, Branson, Missouri; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer (Spencer) McLean, Laura Powers, Jacob Bowers, Nicholas Bowers, Paul Derks, David Derks and Stephen Derks; three great-grandchildren, Addisynn, Shayne and Sydney McLean; a sister, Elda (Charlie) Rhoades, Lee's Summit, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
The family is so thankful for Mom and Daddy's love. She took such good care of him when he got sick and we will be eternally thankful for that!
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Clearfork Cemetery near Garden City, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors.
