Lawanda June Mickelberry of Garden City, Missouri was born April 19, 1928 in May, Oklahoma the daughter of Rufus Talford and Ida Esther (Sumpter) Carnagie. She departed this life on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri surrounded by love and family at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 27 days.
On February 10, 1950 June was united in marriage to Billie Gene Mickelberry.
June was a homemaker and for several years baby sitted for local families in the Garden City Community. She attended the First Christian Church, Garden City and enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family. She had moved to Garden City in 1950.
Besides her parents, June was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Neal, Monroe, Arden, Jerrel, Marlin and Gene; a sister, Ellen; 2 half-brothers, Marvin and Bill; 2 half-sisters, Zela and Lucille.
June is survived by 2 sons, William E. Mickelberry, Garden City, Missouri, Randy Mickelberry, Harrisonville, Missouri; 2 daughters, Becky Miller and husband, Chris and Sandy Cantrell and husband, Gary all of Garden City, Missouri; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ruth Buchanon, Wichita, Kansas, Waynola Bourke, Walnut Grove, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with interment in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
Final arrangement entrusted to Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.
