Kenneth D. Officer

Kenneth (Kenny) Dale Officer of Harrisonville, Missouri was born June 16, 1936 in Independence, Missouri the son of Bert and Avilla (Suttles) Officer. He departed this life on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, surrounded by love from his family and friends, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 18 days.

Kenny was raised in Grain Valley, Missouri. He shared the love of the country life and farming with his family in Blue Springs, Missouri and Aurora, Missouri where they had their 3rd generation family farm. His favorite jobs consisted of driving his tractor to mow or bale hay.

Kenny was employed with MODot for 33 years until his retirement in 1994. He looked forward to every Sunday that he attended The Worship Center in Harrisonville. Kenny had a love for eating, watching westerns, the Royals, the Chiefs and sit outside at the farm and enjoy nature with a glass of iced tea in his hand. He was known as a happy, simple man and wanting to help others. He enjoyed spending his last years watching out for his dog Sunny.

Besides his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Robert Officer.

Kenny is survived by nieces and nephews.

Funeral service were held Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Cremation to follow the service.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Worship Center Memorial Fund, Harrisonville, Missouri.
