Obituary for Kenneth Swadley

Kenneth Lee Swadley, 86, of Pleasant Hill, was born, July 2, 1931, in Grove Spring, Missouri, the son of Onis and Viola (Williams) Swadley. He departed this life, Friday, October 6, 2017, at home surrounded with love and family.

Ken attended school in Leann, Missouri.

In 1951, he was united in marriage to Betty Anne Fleener in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on January 10, 2013.

Ken had been employed as a Butcher for R.B. Rice for 27 years. Following his time with R.B. Rice he was employed as a Warehouseman for Jones/Comcast Intercable and later for R&R Construction. He enjoyed coon hunting, woodworking, and working on small engines.

Ken was also preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

He is survived by two sons, Mike (and Debbie) Swadley of Pleasant Hill and Rick Swadley of Greenwood; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 7 brothers; 2 sisters; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Interment is in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers are Don Emo, Paul Miller, Charles Postel, Dale Seaboldt, Randy Sims, Chad Swadley, Karter Swadley, and Rick Swadley.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Meals on Wheels and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
