Raymonde Alice Gionet

April 12, 1943 — April 10, 2018

It is with great sadness our family announces that our beloved Mother; Grandmother; Sister; Aunt; Wife; friend Raymonde Gionet passed away peacefully on April 10, 2018. She has gone to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Heaven has received a beautiful and feisty angel. Raymonde had a zest for life! She bravely battled cancer until she could no longer fight. Raymonde was loved by so many. Raymonde was a devout Catholic who loved the Lord. She will be greatly missed.

Raymonde carried tremendous love for her family and friends. She always had a smile and a hug for you. Her wonderful laugh will be missed.

Raymonde was born on April 12, 1943 in Sherbrooke, Canada. She came to America in 1969 not knowing a word of English! She taught herself how to speak English with help from her children. She had pride and love for this country.

Raymonde will be lovingly remembered by her husband Calvin. Raymonde was a loving and devoted Mother to her son’s; Alain Plante, Raymond Plante and wife Mikaela, Rejean Plante and wife Alicia and deceased son Dennis Plante. She loved her step-children; Celeste Doucet and husband Scott, David Gionet and wife Muriel, and Robert Gionet and Michael Stafford.

She cherished and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, they were her sunshine! Her grandkids will greatly miss her. Grandchildren Christopher & Carley, Matthew & Krystal, Max, Colin, Tiffany, Noah, Britney, Meghan, Nicholas, Kayleigh and Taylor. She had 3 beautiful great grandchildren, Judah, Jaxson and Ava.

Raymonde had 4 brothers and 1 sister. She loved them all dearly. Her brothers are Guy, Marc, Andre, Yves and sister Helene.

Raymonde was a wonderful person. She was part-owner of the Courtyard Grill & Bar in Clinton, MO and she just loved her customers. Her work ethic throughout her life was remarkable.

She loved the ocean, music and she loved and enjoyed life. She touched many lives in her time on this earth.

Raymonde’s family would like to thank the wonderful, loving and amazing people who were there to help whenever needed during her last days:
Tina and Ed; thank you for being there daily to help and offer support and love. We could not put into words how truly grateful we are. We love you dearly.

A special thank you to the loving and caring staff at Heartland Hospice Care; Dr. Lara Kenney, Mary and Don Darling, the awesome Oncology and Fusion Department at Golden Valley Hospital and the many friends and family that brought food and came to visit and give their love and support. You are all remarkable people. God Bless each of you.

From one of her favorite songs we will end with, ‘Some of it’s magic, some of it’s tragic, but I had a good life all the way’.

Cremation. Celebration of Life Gathering was held Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Courtyard Grill and Bar, Clinton, Missouri.
