Robert "Bob" Joe Jacobs, of Creighton, Missouri was born March 16, 1946 in Creighton, Missouri the son of Herbert Lee and Ruth Anna (Ewing) Jacobs. He departed this life on Saturday, January 20, 2018 surrounded by love and family at the Redwood Center of Raymore, Missouri at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 4 days.
Bob was a butcher and a member of the Meat Cutters and Butcher Local Union #576 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a Marine veteran of the Vietnam war. Bob was a member and Past Commander of the Harrisonville VFW Post #4409 where he was dedicated to serving the veterans through the Harrisonville Honor Guard. He attended the Creighton Christian Church. Bob loved to hunt and fish and be on the Mississippi River and was known for his laughter.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth W. "Jake" Jacobs and Donald "Donnie" Jacobs.
Bob is survived by one daughter, Lisa Plato and husband Ron, Jerseyville, Illinois; two grandsons, Nicholas Plato and wife Brook, Andrew Plato and wife Dezaray; three great-grandchildren, Sophia, Robert and Baker; three brothers, Hobart Jacobs, Belton, Missouri, Richard Jacobs, Harrisonville, Missouri, Charlie Jacobs, Warsaw, Missouri; two sisters, Betty Leon, Blue Springs, Missouri, Mary Anne Cox, Urich, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service was held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with Military Honors to follow at the funeral home. Inurnment is in the Mullin Cemetery near Urich, Missouri followed with the Military Service.
