Ivan H. Kirk Lee’s Summit, Missouri was born November 19, 1914 near Harrisonville the son of James Henry and Teelie Belle (Davis) Kirk. He departed this life on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center at the age of 95 years, 8 months and 3 days.
On July 6, 1941, Ivan was united in marriage to May Pearl Collins in Harrisonville.
Ivan was employed as an electrician for Burlington-Northern and Frisco Railroad. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lee’s Summit and was an Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II. Ivan enjoyed gardening, woodworking, the outdoors and especially getting together every other Sunday with his family for dinner. He will be remembered as a gentle and caring man and was always a true gentleman.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and four sisters, Nellie Musick, Bessie and Jessie Garrett and Alma Belle Lewis.
He is survived by his sister, Doris Bohannon, Harrisonville, Missouri; niece’s, Dorothy Thomas, Harrisonville, Missouri and Charlesine Guy and husband Harry, Grandview, Missouri; a nephew, Damon A. Lewis, Quartzite, Arizona; a sister-in-law, Arliss Collins, Jefferson City, Missouri; other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
