About Us

Our History

In 1980 my father, mother and I were fortunate enough to establish 2 new funeral homes for the families we serve in Garden City and Harrisonville, Missouri and the surrounding communities. Occasionally, a crowd is present for a funeral service that even our large chapels cannot hold. Our chapels as the rest of the funeral home is wired to provide audio to every room in the building.

We have accomplished several “firsts” in funeral service in the communities we serve. We are proud to include, but are not limited to: …”OUR FIRSTS”.

  • having a building built for just a funeral home in the county;
  • providing funeral notices on the “Obituary Hotline” for all funeral homes in Cass County, 24 hours a day by calling 816-887-5228;
  • placing the obituary on the memorial programs for the funeral service;
  • placing the deceased picture on the programs to further enhance personalization for the deceased as well as for the family
  • having staff ID themselves by name when answering the phone;
  • providing door tenders to open doors for arriving and departing guests for visitation and funeral service;
  • providing marked accessible Handicapped Parking Facilities in the parking lot for funeral services;
  • providing our staff with ID nametags to recognize funeral directors;
  • placing a red phone on the outside of the funeral home to talk to a director 24 hours a day;
  • having a licensed insurance agent on staff to answer any questions a family might have about insurance;
  • providing a DVD recording of the funeral service to the family as a keepsake;
  • posting obituaries online w/photos of the individual the feature of viewing and or signing the online guestbook;
  • a presentation of family photos on a DVD during visitation and funeral service via the “Video Tribute System” as a keepsake for the family (at no charge);
  • viewing of the personalized “Video Tribute” on our website;
  • proudly erect a flag pole and display our US Flag;

These are just some of the firsts we are proud of. Our desire is to ease the burden of the family at their time of need. We sincerely hope we have accomplished those achievements.
