Adam James Nixson

Adam James Nixson, 29 of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, formerly of Johnston, Iowa, was born, October 22, 1986, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of James W. and Tami L. (Love) Nixson. He departed this life, Monday, December 28, 2015.
Adam was a 2005, Johnston Senior High graduate. On August 6, 2011, he was united in marriage to Lauren M. Davis in Liberty, Missouri.
He was employed as a Sheet Metal Apprentice working for the P1 Group, Inc., and was a proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers, Local Union No. 2, Kansas City, Missouri. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for duck hunting with his dog, Jack. He was a loyal fan to the KC Royals and Chiefs.
The passion he held for life was infectious, much like his laugh. The love and respect he showed to those around him had no limits. He was a sweet and caring man who loved his family and friends, but was most proud of his two sons. He gave his whole heart into being a father and husband.
Adam was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jim and Janice Nixson, and maternal grandfather Jim Love.
He is survived by his wife, Lauren Nixson of Pleasant Hill; his sons, James Nixson (age 3) and Miles Nixson (age 1) of Pleasant Hill; his parents, Jim and Tami Nixson of Johnston, Iowa; his sister, Kristina Nixson of Waukee, Iowa; maternal grandmother, Lou Love of Overland Park, KS; brother-in-law, Nick Eaton of Overland Park, KS; sister-in-law, Maddie Eaton of Overland Park, KS; several aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and many close friends.
Cremation has been accorded.
Visitation was held Friday, January 22, 2016, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
A Celebration of Life service was held Saturday, January 23, 2016, at the funeral home. Reverend D. Kent Deubner of the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church will officiate. Honorary bearers are Dean Baldwin, Joel Davis, Nick Eaton, Josh Gonzalez, Phil Koontz, Jamie Love, Zach Moses, Jager Rappe and Macoy Rappe.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Adam may be made to the Adam Nixson’s Family Memorial or the Missouri Department of Conservation, c/o Donations Coordinator, PO Box 180, Jefferson City, Missouri, 65102. Donations may also be left at the funeral home.
