Alfred Dibben

Alfred Earl Dibben, longtime resident of Peculiar, Missouri, was born December 29, 1929 in Marshfield, Missouri the son of John Henry and Florence Pearl (Buchette) Dibben. He departed this life peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at his home in Belton, Missouri at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 16 days.
A decorated veteran of the Korean War, Al served his country in the United States Army Corp of Engineers. After his service Al spent several years in the mountains of Colorado and New Mexico "cruising timber" on horseback for the Southerland Lumber Company. Returning to Missouri in 1968, Al managed the Benson Lumber Company in Belton, and retired after many years from Rex Spencer Equipment Company in Belton.
Al loved hockey, baseball, and all things Western. He was a former Scoutmaster for Troop 245 in Peculiar, and member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. In his final years he lived at Carnegie Village in Belton, where he enjoyed making new friends and antagonizing the administration. Al deeply cherished the friendship and support of the residents and staff at Carnegie.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Benjamin Dibben and Frank Jefferson Dibben; a sister, Helen Mary Arelia (Dibben) Collins.
Al is survived by three sons, David Dibben and wife C.J., Colleyville, Texas, Dan Dibben and wife Donna, Peculiar, Missouri, Doug Dibben and wife Debbie, Freeman, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Callie Sophrona (Dibben) McGowan, Aurora, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Al requested a simple cremation with no service as he did not want to "put on airs." The family simply asks that you keep Al in your hearts and prayers
Arrangements are under the care of Cass County Cremation Services, Harrisonville, Missouri.
