Annabell Ann Barnard

Mrs. Annabell ?Ann? Barnard of Independence, Missouri was born February 8, 1933 in Camdenton, Missouri the daughter of Karl and Martha Ann (Risner) Greenwood. She departed this life on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Truman Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 77 years and 25 days.
On June 2, 1950, Ann was united in marriage to Ted Allen Barnard.
Ann started her career in nursing after raising her three children. She became a licensed practical nurse and was employed at Bates County Hospital, Butler, Missouri before serving in several nursing homes until her retirement. Earlier, Ann along with her husband, Ted owned and operated a dairy farm in the Austin Community near Archie, Missouri. She loved helping others and took great pride in her work. She was a member of the Abiding Love Baptist Church, Harrisonville. Ann had lived in Archie and Harrisonville before moving to Independence.
Besides her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Ted on July 4, 1984 and a sister, Jean Fraley.
Ann is survived by two sons, Allen Barnard and wife, Terri, Harrisonville, Missouri, Doug Barnard and wife, Cathy, Raytown, Missouri; a daughter, Cheryl Wells, Independence, Missouri; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Hazel Singleton, Harrisonville, Missouri; several cousins, nieces and nephews who she loved very much; other relatives and many friends.
Ann always loved her flowers, but there are plenty in Heaven, so if you would like to make a donation to the Abiding Love Baptist Church building fund, Harrisonville, Missouri.
A Celebration of Life services were held Friday, March 12, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Abiding Love Baptist Church, Harrisonville, Missouri. Cremation with inurnment at the Austin Cemetery near Archie, Missouri.
