Mrs. Arminta Ann Driskill of Pleasant Hill, Missouri was born December 3, 1940 in El Centro, California the daughter of John Farrell and Mildred Phyllis (Hopper) Dobson. She departed this life on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 surrounded by love and family at her home near Pleasant Hill at the age of 71 years, 7 months and 12 days. Arminta was united in marriage to William Cecil “Bill” Driskill Sr. on September 14, 1957 in Wheatland, Missouri. Arminta was employed for 41 years in quality control at Western Electric, Lee’s Summit, Missouri until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill and a member of Pioneers of America. Arminta enjoyed her family, floral designing and cooking. She was a 4 year starter and standout basketball player at Wheatland High School and still holds the school record for scoring 54 points in a single game. Arminta had lived in Wheatland, Missouri and Kansas City, Missouri before moving to Pleasant Hill 45 years ago. Besides her parents, Arminta was preceded in death by her son, Richard on October 5, 1990; a brother, Kenneth and a sister, Dortha Rogus. Arminta is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Driskill Sr. of the home; a son, William “Bill” Driskill Jr., Pleasant Hill, Missouri; a daughter, Judith Ann Driskill-Brunstein and husband, Nick, Fairview Heights, Illinois; six grandchildren, Alan, Chad, Robert “Bobby”, Misty, Bryan and Grace; four great-grandchildren, Travis Roy, Julia Ann, Johnathon and Catherine Michelle; two brothers, Charles Dobson, Bolivar, Missouri, John Dobson, Wheatland, Missouri; two sisters, Farrellene Turner, Urbana, Missouri, Jane Buckner, Pleasant Hill, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Family received friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the funeral home.
