Arthur Francis Fischer, age 76, of Harrisonville, MO passed away Monday, November 25, 2013 at the Kansas City Hospice House with new found friends at his side, family members close by and in the thoughts of many. Arthur (Art) lived his life from October 3, 1937 until November 25, 2013. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur Edward Fischer and Jesse Josephine Fischer (Beckman). He was the second of three children.
Art graduated from high school in Chicago, Illinois and at the age of nineteen, joined the United States Air Force. Stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster, MO, he was part of the Strategic Air Command (SAC). Here he learned the tools of the trade that would serve him the rest of his life. Art took great pride in the service to his country.
After discharge from the Air Force, Art pursued a career in auto mechanics, owning his own shop in Sedalia, MO, working for various dealerships in the area and Kansas City. From here, he moved on to Denver, Colorado and finally to Las Vegas, Nevada. In Las Vegas, with much dedication, he worked for El Monte RV Corporation until his retirement.
In 2009, Art moved back to Missouri with his beloved dog, Mikki, to be with his children and their families. He loved to tinker with everything and could fix anything set before him. His days were spent detailing his prized truck when possible, laughing with family and friends and admiring the flower garden from the patio of his daughter’s residence that he called “home”.
Arthur Fischer is survived by his son, Michael Henry Fischer of Old Hickory, Tennessee and his daughter, Nicole Fae Albin and her husband Scott Clark Albin of Harrisonville, MO, 8 grand children and 8 great grand children. He was preceded in death by his son, Nicholas Arthur Fischer of Sedalia, MO, a brother, Robert Fischer of Chicago, Illinois, his parents Arthur Edward and Jesse Josephine Fischer of Chicago, Illinois and his long time companion Thelma Ash of Las Vegas, Nevada.
A Celebration of Life Reception will be held from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the home of Scott and Nicole Albin, Harrisonville, MO. A Military Service will also be conducted at 2:00 p.m. at the home.
Final arrangements entrusted to Cass County Cremation Services, Harrisonville, Missouri.
