Asa Ralph Carnes Jr., of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born September 30, 1919 near Fairfax, Missouri, the son of Asa Ralph and Hallie Maynota (Bigley) Carnes. He departed this life Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at the Camden Health Center, Harrisonville, Missouri at the age of 86 years and 25 days.
On February 17, 1950, Ralph was united in marriage to Lula Frances Leslie in Garden City, Missouri.
Ralph was a farmer and livestock hauler. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Ralph was a member of the East Lynne Baptist Church, East Lynne, Missouri, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4409, Harrisonville, Missouri, over 50 year member of the Jewell Lodge #480 A.F. & A.M, Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Ararat Shrine and the Shrine Legion of Honor, Kansas City, Missouri Grandview Shrine Club, Cass County Shrine Club and was a Scottish Rite Mason. He was a life long resident of Pleasant Hill.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Carnes on October 26, 1995; a son, Larry Ralph Carnes on December 12, 1983; three brothers, Howard, Floyd and Milton Carnes; two sisters, Alta Hite and Ada Yoes.
He is survived by a son, David A. Carnes, Pleasant Hill, Missouri; three grandchildren, Crystal, David Jr. and Megan; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Lee Carnes, Pleasant Hill, Missouri; a sister, May Gillespie, Harrisonville, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 29, 2005 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Orient Cemetery.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Odyssey Hospice and may be left at the funeral home.
