Barbara Jean Rinker, 50, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Tuesday, December 5, 1961 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Worthy Jesse James, Jr. and Eleanor Lee (Hill) James. She departed this life at 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Lee's Summit Medical Center.
She was a 1980 graduate of the J.C. Harmon High School in Kansas City, Kansas.
On May 3, 1986, she was united in marriage to Jack Michael Rinker in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-son Glenn Rinker in 1989. She is survived by her husband Jack of the home; one daughter Jess Dinges and her husband Raymond of Pleasant Hill; one step-daughter Sheri Barker and her husband B.J. of Pleasant Hill; 4 grandchildren Levi, Carly, Rylie, and Kenly; one brother Jay James of Kansas City, Kansas; one sister Joyce Starks and her husband John of Edwardsville, Kansas; one half-sister Marilyn Holmes and her husband Bob of El Central, California; other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the funeral home. Mr. Scott Todd will officiate. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers are B.J. Barker, Raymond Dinges, John Starks, Darrell Gray, Sam Gray, and Mike Gray. Mr. Dean Gray, Mr. Roger Smith and Mr. Roger Smith Jr. will serve as honorary casket bearers.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Saturday.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Powell Gardens and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
