Bernice Margaret Bearkheimer, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born Janury 14, 1942 in Florissant, Missouri the daughter of Ignacious and Mary (Barresi) Farace. She departed this life Monday, February 27, 2012 at her home at the age of 70 years, 1 month and 13 days. On September 26, 1959, Bernice was united in marriage to Jerry Lee Bearkheimer in St. Charles, Missouri.
Bernice was a homemaker until Julie was in the 5th grade and then became employed as a line tech for Marion Labs, Kansas City, Missouri for 20 years and also helped out at the family restaurants, Nickerson and D-Li-My, as a cashier and hostess . She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville and will be remembered as a very Godly and religious woman. Bernice was a cub scout den leader and helped out in the P.T.A. in Florisaant, Missouri for several years. She loved taking care of her family, buying flowers for everyone’s yard and all of her dogs.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Bearkheimer on December 28, 2011 and a son, Jerry Bearkheimer on May 19, 2003.
Bernice is survived by a son, Steven Bearkheimer; a daughter, Julie L. Karg and husband DeWayne Sr., Harrisonville, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; a great-grand dog, Boss; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Mass was held Friday, March 2, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Memorial Fund, Harrisonville.
Funeral services are under the direction of Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
