Bessie Highley

Mrs. Bessie Frances Highley of Archie, Missouri, was born February 12, 1927 in Archie, the daughter of Frank Weaver and Bessie Belle (Stevens) Barnard. She departed this life Sunday, June 25, 2006, at Cass Medical Center, Harrisonville, at the age of 79 years, 4 months and 13 days.
On August 21, 1942, Bessie was united in marriage to Robert Lonnie ""Jack"" Highley in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
Bessie was a homemaker and a Wal-Mart greeter for 7 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Archie and had been attending Everett Community Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and active in Vacation Bible School. Bessie was a 1943 graduate of Archie High School and was a lifelong Archie area resident. She loved her garden and flowers and was known by her family and friends as ""Aunt Minnie"".
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Highley on December 27, 2000.
She is survived by a daughter, Sheryl S. Highley, Archie, Missouri; two grandchildren, Frank D. and Jessica S. two sisters-in-law, Uva Mae Highley, Harrisonville, Missouri, Bonnie Highley, Adrian, Missouri; a cousin, Elizabeth New, Drexel, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 29, 2006 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with interment in the Sharon Cemetery, Drexel, Missouri.
