Bill Brown

June 19, 1935 — July 20, 2014

Bill Brown, 79, of Garden City, Missouri departed this life on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at St. Luke's East, Lee's Summit, Missouri surrounded by love and family.
Bill was a member of the United States Air Force serving as an Aircraft Mechanic during the end of the Korean War. His service to his country made him proud to be an American. November 10, 1956, Bill married Carol J. Clark of Lincoln, Nebraska. They relocated to the Kansas City area and began their family. They welcomed three daughters into their lives, Linda November 1962, Susan April 1965 and Kathy December 1973. Family was their life, and as it grew the joy grew. They were also blessed with grandchildren, Laura, Jennifer, Amanda, Andrew, Jarrett, Jesse, Ashley & Grant as well as great grand children, Trace, Chloe, Peighton & Keegan.
Bill was proud to be an employee of Ford Motor Company all of his working years, retiring in 1992. In his free time he also enjoyed upholstery work in his shop , gardening and traveling with his family. After retiring, he and Carol relocated to Garden City, MO, where they became members of the Heart of Life Church.
Bill is survived by his wife Carol J. Brown of the home; two daughters, Susan L. Stehli and her husband John of Cape Coral, Florida,and Kathy A. Shields and her husband James of Blue Springs, Missouri; one brother, Howard Brown of Joplin, Missouri; two sisters, Shirley Kinnamon of Odessa, Missouri, and Mildred Fowler of Millburn, New Jersey; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Linda J. Kaneaster, March of 2002.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Heart Of Life Church, Garden City, Missouri. Burial will be in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the church.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Heart Of Life Church Project Nic.
