William McCager ?Billy Mack? Stone of Harrisonville, Missouri was born November 23, 1911 north of East Lynne, Missouri the son of Irvin A. and Ada (Ammon) Stone. He departed this life on Friday, September 26, 2008 at his home in Harrisonville at the age 96 years, 10 months and 3 days. Bill was united in marriage to Glena Etta Welch and later married Norma Rae Loffel on December 16, 2000 in Harrisonville, Missouri. Bill was a stockman. He formerly owned and operated the Farmers Elevator in Harrisonville and Archie, Missouri from 1948 until 1967. He formerly was a truck farmer, trader in livestock, was employed at Hartzler?s Grocery Store and Winegarden?s Grocery Store in East Lynne. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving as a Second Lieutenant in the European Theatre. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and had served the church as a board and building committee member and as Sunday School Superintendent. He held 50 year membership?s in Harrisonville Lions Club, Cass Masonic Lodge #147 A.F. & A.M., member and past patron of Bayard Chaper #179 Order of the Eastern Star all of Harrisonville and Ararat Shrine, Kansas City. Bill served as Worthy Grand Patron of the Eastern Star for the State of Missouri in 1972. Bill was outgoing, friendly and loved to dance. He was a lifelong area resident. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Briggs and his step-son, Richard Wayne McWilliams. He is survived by his wife, Norma Rae Stone of the home; two step-sons, Randy Burns and Arnold Loffel and wife, Diana; a step-daughter, Heather Moreland and husband, Michael all of Harrisonville, Missouri; 19 step-grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; 1 step-great-great-grandson; a niece, Sue Ererly, State of Utah; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held September 30, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial at the Orient Cemetery.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice.
