Billy Joe “Bill” Brock, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born January 9, 1942 in Harrisonville the son of William Worth and Mabel (Majors) Brock. He departed this life Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 69 years, 10 months and 25 days.
On July 14, 1963, Bill was united in marriage to Carol Kay Carter in Harrisonville.
Bill was employed at Liver’s Bronze Company, Kansas City, Missouri for 20 years and later owned and operated All American House Plans in Harrisonville. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Optimist Club, Jaycee’s and the 4-H Club all of Harrisonville and was an Eagle Scout in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Bill was a 1960 graduate of the Harrisonville High School. He enjoyed trout fishing, coaching Little League Baseball and was involved with Smokie Squares which was a camping and square dancing club. Bill had been a life long Harrisonville resident.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Geraldine Brock.
Bill is survived by his wife, Carol Brock of the home; two sons, Joe Brock and wife Delilah, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Duane Brock and wife Kathryn, Overland Park, Kansas; a grandson, Austin Brock and wife Holly; 5 step-grandchildren, Ben Casebolt and wife Heidi, Rachel Casebolt, Emily Pedersen, Joe Pedersen and Julie Pedersen; a great-granddaughter, Chloe Brock; a step-great-granddaughter, Isabella; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will he held Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. With burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
