Billy Joe Kenagy

Billy Joe Kenagy, of Rich Hill, Missouri, was born November 30, 1953 in Harrisonville, Missouri the son of Lloyd C. and Georgia B (Grosshart) Kenagy. He departed this life Sunday, January 24, 2010 at his home near Rich Hill at the age of 56 years, 1 month and 24 days.
Billy Joe was a 1972 graduate of the Harrisonville High School. He owned and operated Kenagy Service doing automotive repair and tow service at various locations in Harrisonville. Later he worked for Ira Barnard and at Carl?s Sinclair Station in Butler, Missouri. Billy Joe was a member of the First Christian Church, Harrisonville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd C. Kenagy in 1974 and his mother, Georgia B Kenagy in 1997.
He is survived by his sister, LuAnn Kenagy, Harrisonville, Missouri; long-time companion, Rebecca Hansen of the home; step-children, Pamela Blair and husband John, George Thomas Gillespie and wife Kelly, Robert William Gillespie, presently serving in Afghanistan; four grandchildren, Derick, Wyatt, Jessica and Joseph; the family pets, Butchie and Pup; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Burial will be at the Grant Cemetery near Creighton, Creighton, Missouri.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Memorial Fund.
