Buddy Allen

Buddy Joe Allen of Drexel, Missouri was born November 9, 1949 in Springfield, Missouri the son of Wilbur Augustus and Freda Juanita (Stark) Allen. He departed this life on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 58 years, 8 months and 6 days.
On September 14, 2002, Bud was united in marriage to Pela Loretta Hensley at Lake Jacomo.
Bud was employed as a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad in Kansas City, Missouri for the past 32 years. He was a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the UTU Local 1216, Kansas City, Missouri and the VFW in Carthage, Missouri. He had lived in Lee's Summit, Missouri before moving to Drexel in 2004.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Christina and April Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Pela Hensley-Allen of the home; a son, Michael Joe Allen and his fianc, Lara Julien, Webb City, Missouri; three step-sons, Monty Hensley, Omaha, Nebraska, Steven Hensley and Phillip Hensley both of Council Bluffs, Iowa; seven grandchildren; his parents, Wilbur and Freda Allen, Pleasant Hope, Missouri; six brothers, Stephen Allen, Larry Allen and Bill Allen all of Springfield, Missouri, Bob Allen, Republic, Missouri, Tom Allen, Leavenworth, Kansas, Chris Allen, Humansville, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Services were held Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Cremation.
Family suggest memorial contribution may be made to the Bud Allen Memorial Fund.
