Carol Ann Mueller

Carol Ann Mueller, a long-term resident of Austin, Texas died from stage 4 breast cancer on March 12, 2011 at the age of 57.
Carol was born into a military family and had the opportunity to live around the world in places such as Guam and Germany. Carol and her mother, Blossom Mueller, moved to Austin in 1971.
In 1975, Carol graduated from Baylor University in Waco with a degree in Radio-TV-Film Journalism. She began her career in Austin as a newscaster at local radio station, KLBJ. Her career continued into the commercial side of the radio business expanding to traffic management and other related activities at a local television station.
One of her interests was the Gridiron Show, an annual theatrical parody of politics and current events performed by the Austin Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Carol was actively involved not only as a performer but also frequently as producer. Carol was proud of the fact that the funds raised from the Show provided support for journalism scholarships as well as freedom of information issues.
Carol was an active member of the Ascension Lutheran Church in Northwest Hills, where she participated in a variety of member and outreach programs, especially those related to music
Due to a medical development, Carol made a career change late in life that steered her into the food industry. She began work with the H.E.B. grocery chain in Austin eventually becoming an imported cheese specialist. Carol's smile and customer service orientation created a following that resulted in many customers returning to solicit her ideas for their special occasions.
In 2009, Carol was diagnosed with breast cancer. She joined the I.V. League, a group dedicated to providing resources and support to others with stage 4 breast cancer. Throughout the course of her treatment, she continued to work at H.E.B. and to provide her high level of energy and customer service. Her condition forced her to discontinue working at the end of December 2010.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Creighton, Missouri with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery near Creighton, Missouri.
