Mrs. Carol Jean Strong, Garden City, Missouri, was born October 1, 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Robert Francis and Josephine (Vogl) Kupersmith. She departed this life Sunday, August 7, 2011 at her home near Garden City at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 6 days.
On August 21, 1965, Carol was united in marriage to Ronald Frank Strong at the St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri.
Carol was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, Missouri where she served as the School of Religion Director and an Administrative Assistant until her retirement in 2004. She also helped her husband Ron with the farm and dairy business. Carol enjoyed painting, traveling and spending time with her grandkids. Her greatest blessings were her children and grandchildren. She devoted her life to her family and church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Carol is survived by her husband, Deacon Ronald Strong of the home; three sons, John Strong, Harrisonville, Missouri, Richard Strong and wife Kathy, Lebanon, Missouri, Stephen Strong and wife Jennifer, Harrisonville, Missouri; a daughter, Jeanette Baker and husband Brian, Harrisonville, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; a brother, Robert Kupersmith, Stilwell, Kansas; two sisters, Linda Kelly, North Kansas City, Missouri, Joyce Hader, Overland Park, Kansas; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, Missouri with interment in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the church with Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
The family suggest the memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church-Church Debt Reduction.
