Carol Turner

January 17, 1952 — June 22, 2014

Carol Lee Turner, 62, of Creighton passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville, MO after a seven month battle with cancer.
She was born at Clinton General Hospital in Clinton, MO on January 17, 1952. She was the second child of the late Glen Melvin “Billy” and Elizabeth Bliss “Betty” Jones. Carol graduated from Calhoun High School in 1970, received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from Southwest Baptist University in 1974, and received her licensed practical nurse degree from Technical School of Practical Nursing in 1977.
Nursing was her passion and occupation for 20+ years. Her love for helping others and welcoming personality made her an ideal nurse for all patients at various nursing facilities.
Carol was a strong Christian who lived out her faith on a daily basis. This faith made her an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend, all who have been impacted greatly through their interaction with her.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Tom and Lucille Turner.
Carol is survived by her husband of 32 years, Billy Ray Turner. Four children; son and daughter-in-law Kyle and Kayla Turner of Kimberling City; son Travis Turner of Creighton; step-daughter Lynie Vinyard of Jefferson City; step-son Brian Turner of Cassville. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.; Sister and brother-in-law Mickey and Gary Roberts of Butler; Brother and sister-in-law Gary and Kelly Jones of Clinton; Sister-in-law Kay Elliott of Exeter, Sister-in-law and brother-in-law Linda and Glen Cornell of Willard, and Sister-in-law and brother-in-law Becky and Ron Thorton of Fairland, OK; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Byler Cemetery near Creighton.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice.
