Ruby Charlene Flint of Garden City, Missouri was born September 1, 1918 in Jamesport, Missouri the daughter of Jennings Edward and Hazel C. (Phillips) Grisamore. She departed this life on Thursday, September 11, 2014 surrounded by love and family at the age of 96 years and 10 days.
On February 16, 1940, Charlene was united in marriage to Richard Thomas Flint in Princeton, Missouri.
Charlene was an elementary school teacher teaching numerous grades until her retirement from the Belton, Missouri School District. Even after retirement she continued to substitute teach in area schools. She attended Dayton Community Church near Garden City. Charlene received her Master’s Degree in Education from Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, Missouri. She was an active member and Past Worthy Matron of Garden City Chapter #340, Order of the Eastern Star, member of Messiah White Shrine #26, Garden City and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Charlene enjoyed doing crafts, quilting, crocheting, sewing, camping and fishing. Charlene had lived in Grandview before moving to Garden City in 1983.
Besides her parents, Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Richard on February 22, 2007; her daughter, Karen Barnes; a grandson, Leslie Dunkle and a brother, Melvin.
Charlene is survived by her daughter, Nancy Agans and husband, Ron, Garden City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Zane and Craig Krebbs, Troy and Jennifer Dunkle; ten great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Byron Grisamore, Galt, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri, with an Eastern Star service starting at 11 and the funeral immediately to follow with interment at Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
