Mrs. Helen Charlene Neil, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born February 14, 1933 near Bolivar, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Mattie (Harris) Sawyer. She departed this life Sunday, July 15, 2007, at her home in Harrisonville at the age of 74 years, 5 months and 1 day.
On September 30, 1950, Charlene was united in marriage to Willard Frank Neil in Aldrich, Missouri.
Charlene was a homemaker. She was a member of South Haven Baptist Church, Belton, Missouri. Charlene loved music, cooking and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had lived in Belton before moving to Harrisonville in 2001.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Earnest and Elvin and two sisters, Velma and Alma.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Neil of the home; three sons, Randy Neil and wife Beth, Peculiar, Missouri, Ronnie Neil and wife Rose, Dale Neil and wife Sheila all of Belton, Missouri; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Guy Sawyer, Bolivar, Missouri; a sister, Neva Gannaway, Belton, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be left at the funeral home.
