Christian Henry George Wright

December 28, 1960 — October 20, 2009

Christian Henry George Wright of Independence, Missouri was born December 28, 1960 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Donald David and Patricia Ann (Dickey) Wright. He departed this life on Tuesday morning, October 20, 2009 at Centerpointe Medical Center, Independence, Missouri at the age of 48 years, 9 months and 22 days.
On May 24, 1980, Chris was united in marriage to Phyllis Marie Rowden in Raymore, Missouri.
Chris dedicated his life to his family, running a family construction business with his son, Nathan and nephew, Onie. Chris could often be heard telling people that his family made him feel like he was the King of his universe. He knew no stranger and would stop at nothing to help anyone that needed him. Chris was an avid explorer, hunter, fisherman and enjoyed all activities with his family. He was the first person his family went to for questions, advice and ideas on strategy. He was a brilliant man that will be missed by everyone that he made contact with.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Ann Wright on May 4, 1973; his maternal grandparents, Fred and Pearl Dickey.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Wright of the home; two sons, Nathan Wright Peculiar, Missouri, Daniel Wright and wife, Christina, Norfolk, Virginia; his daughter, Christina Wright, Lee?s Summit, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kevin, Adrianna, Hunter and Brooke; his parents, Don and Patricia Ann Wright, Raymore, Missouri; Christian and Cindy Meyer, Copan, Oklahoma; a sister, Cheryl DeAngelo and husband, Rockey, Grandview, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
If there were any understanding of the meaning of life and the importance of family, Chris knew it to the fullest. He was always reminding everyone around him how you should let those that are yours know how you feel and to not let one moment pass that you don?t breathe in the Love and exhale the Peace that family brings to the Soul. Chris truly lived every day as though it were the last. As a result, he left a legacy and a lesson to all of us; to leave nothing unsaid, no one unloved, no lesson untaught. Leave no one wondering how they were thought of or how they should love more?how important every moment is and why the heart needs to remember.
His wife will carry on his passion for life, his children will pass on the lessons, his family will feel the lack of his presence. Chris will be looked up to, loved and thought of in our lives always.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Creighton, Missouri with burial at Grant Cemetery near Creighton, Missouri.
