Cindy Lou Garrett

Cindy Lou Garrett of Columbia, Missouri was born April 25, 1975 in Harrisonville, Missouri the daughter of John William and Darlene Louise (Crowhurst) Garrett. She departed this life on Thursday, July 30, 2009 surrounded by her family at University Hospital, Columbia at the age of 34 years, 3 months and 5 days.
Cindy was employed as an assembler for the Central Missouri Subcontracting Enterprises in Columbia until her retirement in 2008 because of increasing health problems. She was a faithful member of the Grandview Baptist Church, Centralia, Missouri where she sang in the choir and helped with the church newsletter. Cindy enjoyed being a-part of Special Olympics. She excelled in the sports of bowling and bocce ball winning many gold medals for her efforts. She enjoyed being with her friends and looked forward to hosting her annual Christmas Party.
She is survived by her loving parents, J.W. and Darlene Garrett of the home; a brother, Bill Garrett and wife, Heidi, Lakeland, Georgia; three nephews, Kaden, Skyler and Noah; two nieces, Stepheni and Kialee; Aunt Geraldine Sisk and Aunt and Uncle, Belinda and Robert Gentry; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 10, 2009 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri. Burial will be at the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Grandview Baptist Church, Centralia, Missouri.
Family suggest memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics, Ellis Fischel Cancer Center or to the Central Missouri Subcontracting Enterprise.
