Daisy E. Duncan

d. September 2, 2021

Daisy E. Duncan, 82, of Harrisonville, was born December 10, 1938, in Independence, the daughter of Leonard L. and Gladys J. (Rice) Cook. She departed this life Thursday, September 2, 2021, to be with her Lord and Savior whom she so faithfully served, at Windsor Healthcare, surrounded with love and family.

Daisy, who shared both her grandmothers first names, was a 1956 Pleasant Hill High School graduate where she was a member of the first National Honor Society.

Following high school, she met a neighbor boy and fell in love and on September 21, 1957, she was united in marriage to Jimmy Duncan in Pleasant Hill. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2008.

Daisy was primarily a homemaker but had various jobs throughout the years. The Pleasant Hill Times “Cooking with Daisy” was a highlight interviewing local women and sharing their recipes with the community. Her favorite job was ministering to children through the First Baptist Church Day Care.

Her life’s greatest accomplishments were serving the Lord locally and nationally. Daisy did many conferences educating others to teach children. She traveled throughout the US including Florida, Texas, Vermont, Massachusetts, California, and Hawaii for these conferences. Daisy also taught many Sunday School and Vacation Bible School classes. Her teaching and ministry span three generations.

Her most memorable mission work was being asked to travel to Belarus Russia. Daisy was able to tell the children about Jesus. She also made lifetime friends while there.

Daisy was an active member of the Antioch Southern Baptist Church, Harrisonville where she also taught the Kindergarten Sunday School Class.
