Dale E. Hitchcock

Dale Edward Hitchcock, 63, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born, October 7, 1958, in Versailles, Missouri, the son of Theron B. and Betty J. (Porter) Hitchcock. He departed this life, Saturday, August 14, 2021, at the Pleasant Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center surrounded with love and family.

Dale was raised on the family farm east of Versailles. He was a 1976 Morgan County R-II high school graduate where he was active in FFA and Concert Choir. After high school he earned certification in Small Engine Mechanics form the Miller County Vocational Technical School in Eldon, Missouri.

On June 1, 1991, he was united in marriage to Tina Marie (Foster) Daugherty in Versailles.

Dale was employed by Heartland Tanning, Inc. in Lee’s Summit for 25 years. He traveled extensively for Heartland and had many fond memories of his trips to Colorado, Mississippi, and Michigan. In his spare time he enjoyed John Deere memorabilia, fishing, motorcycles, and Australian Shepherd dogs.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Tina of Pleasant Hill; his step-son Steven Daugherty of Warrensburg, Missouri; one step grandson Kaiden Daugherty of Warrensburg; three brothers, Richard (and Susan) Hitchcock of Warrensburg, Stephen (and Mary) Hitchcock of McPherson, Kansas, and Lynn (and Cheryl) Hitchcock of Clearwater, Florida; one sister Cynthia (and Steve) Warren of Camdenton, Missouri, several nieces and nephews who appreciated uncle Dale’s humor, unpretentious Facebook posts, and fantastic fireworks shows; other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded.

Graveside services and interment will be held at the Hopewell Union Church & Cemetery in Barnett, Missouri, at a later date.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hopewell Cemetery Association for the improvement, operation, and maintenance of the historic cemetery. Memorial contributions may made payable to the Hopewell Cemetery Association and mailed to 101 Carolyn Dr., Eldon, MO 65026
