Debra Lee Corpening

Debra Lee Corpening, 55, passed away on November 17, 2008 in Harrisonville, MO. Debbie was born on July 18, 1953 to Jack and Sybil (Callis) Bebb in Guymon, OK. She grew up in the Gruver and Perryton, TX areas. She graduated from Elkhart High School, Elkhart, KS, in 1971. On May 27, 1972, Debbie married her high school sweetheart, Dan Corpening. They have one son, Ryan Daniel, who was born December 2, 1975.
She attended Liberal Area Vo-Tech, Liberal, KS for one year before working at Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company in Elkhart, KS. Later, she worked for 5 years as the Hugoton, KS grade school secretary. Debbie returned to school and in 1994 she graduated with honors from Panhandle State in Goodwill, OK with a degree in Business Administration. In recent years, she was caregiver to her parents. She loved the outdoors, her dogs, reading, and playing with her grandson and great-nieces. She never met a dog or kid that she didn't love.
Her greatest joy in life came on April 14, 2008 with the birth of her grandson Jack the Bear. He was her ""sweet little fellar"" that she loved with all of her heart and soul.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dogs, Spanky, Ozzie and Prissy.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Dan, Harrisonville, MO, son Ryan and wife Angela, a much adored grandson, Jack and sister Janet Mobray and husband Lane, all of Amarillo, TX. She also leaves behind 8 nieces, 6 nephews, 11 great-nieces and 5 great-nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the First Christian Church, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial Texline Cemetery, Texline, Texas.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Harrisonville Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 367, Harrisonville, Missouri 64701.
