Della Marie Bradley age 88 of Harrisonville, Missouri departed this life Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Golden Years Care Services, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Della was born to John King Parris and Grace May (Foreaker) Parris on April 22, 1923, in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. She lived in the area and graduated from Harrisonville High School in 1941. She was united in marriage to Charles Henry Bradley Jr. on November 29, 1941.
She and Charles lived near Gunn City, Missouri until 1943. Della worked at Pratt Whitney in Kansas City, Missouri during World War II. She and Charles returned to Gunn City in 1945, where they lived until moving to Harrisonville, Missouri in 1989.
Della was an active member in the Methodist churches of Gunn City and Harrisonville, as well as the UMW. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing cards, and being with family and friends. She loved watching the Kansas City Royals and her daily soap operas. She was a very caring person who was willing to help others when she was needed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Charles, her husband of nearly 59 years, and her younger brother, Lloyd King Parris.
Della is survived by three daughters, Jackie Bradley, Washington, Missouri, Linda Knox and husband Gene, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Bonnie Staley and husband David, Garden City, Missouri; 6 grandchildren, Erin, Amanda, Leah, Sara, Ryan, and Brandon; 12 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services werel held Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Loving Hearts.
