Diana Louise Jones, of Independence, MO was born December 10, 1965 in Harrisonville, MO the daughter of Charles A. and Jerry Ann (Goddard) Champ. While surrounded by her loved ones, she departed this life on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at her home, in Independence at the age of 52 years, and 1 month.
Diana was raised in Archie Missouri where she attended school. After she graduated from Archie High School in 1984, she relocated to Independence. In April of 1990, Diana married Kenneth Jones. Their twelve year marriage gifted them with two daughters, Marissa Ann Jones and Sarah Elizabeth Jones. Diana truly loved being a teacher's aid at her daughters' elementary school. She put to good use her soothing voice, empathetic nature and personality in her career in customer service.
Diana's hobbies included photography, puzzles, and audiobook. She also enjoyed her pets and keeping up with friends and family on Facebook. Diana was avid fan of wrestling and lastly, she was especially known for her baked goods.
Diana was preceded in death by her mother, father and her grandparents. She is survived by her brother, Tom Mays, and his wife, Retta, Freeman MO; two daughters, Marissa Jones and Sarah Jones, Independence, MO; cousin (but, more like a sister), Lisa Dewey, Independence, MO; nephews, Craig Mays, his wife, Debbie and their children, Overland Park, KS, and Nathan Mays; Kansas City, MO, her soulmate, Roy Nickens, Independence, MO and many more family and friends.
A Celebration of Life service was held Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with inurnment at a later date.
