Donald Glenn Bearden

Ret. USAF TSG. Donald Glenn Bearden of Harrisonville, Missouri was born September 28, 1936 in Branson, Missouri the son of Charles Henry and Frances Christine (McHolland) Bearden. He departed this life Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 74 years, 5 months and 18 days.
On June 14, 1964, Donald was united in marriage to Sandra Arlene Roe in Decatur, Illinois.
Donald retired as a Technical Sergeant from the United States Air Force on June 30, 1974, where he served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars as well as being a member of the cordon for President Nixon's inauguration. He was a complete American Patriot who loved his country very much. After his retirement, Donald owned and operated Don’s Upholstery as well as Bearden’s Country Corner Grocery Store in East Lynne, Missouri. He was also employed at the Marine Corp Finance Center and later at the USDA both in Kansas City. Donald loved to fish, read, work in his garden as well as his yard and build things. His greatest love and what his life revolved around was his family. Donald rarely missed any events that his children and grandchildren were involved in. He was a true family man and will be greatly missed.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie, Leon and Philip Bearden.
Donald is survived by his wife, Sandy Bearden of the home; two sons, Kevin Bearden and wife Cheryl, Harrisonville, Missouri, Daren Bearden and wife Tammy, Peculiar, Missouri; five grandchildren, Ashley, Brett, Emma, Alex and Sydney; two brothers, Willis Bearden, Collins, Missouri, Joe Bearden, Joplin, Missouri; a sister, Jerry Nevins, Branson, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 310 Johnston Parkway, Raymore, Missouri with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House or the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
