Donald Lee Adams

Donald Lee Adams, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born December 25, 1919 in Hamilton, MO the son of Orval Russell and Maude Ellen (Sackman) Adams. He departed this life Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, Missouri at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 14 days.
On August 16, 1942, Donald was united in marriage to Laurice “Midge” McArthur in Richmond, MO
Donald was employed as a carpenter and later became a business agent for the Carpenters Union Local #27L, Kansas City, MO until his retirement in 1985. Donald and Laurice owned and operated the Dayton Hotel, Lee’s Summit, MO from 1968 until the early 1990’s. He was a member of the RLDS Remnant, Blue Springs, MO and the Carpenters Union Local #27L. Donald was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He loved to hunt, fly fish, tinker and do carpentry around the house and later in life enjoyed taking walks with his wife.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Marvin Adams; two sisters, Fern Breedlove and Noami Kennicutt.
Donald is survived by his wife, Laurice Adams of the home; two daughters, Joan Meador and husband Don, Freeman, Missouri and Donna Lindsey and husband John, Cross Timbers, Missouri; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be 3:00 pm, Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Oak Ridge Memory Gardens, Independence, MO.
Visitation will be from 12:30-2:00 pm, Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, MO.
A memorial service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the RLDS Remnant, 5555 Valley View Rd., Blue Springs, MO 64061.
