Donald Ray Cameron of Archie, Missouri was born October 26, 1937 in Amoret, Missouri the son of Roscoe and Nina Opal (Lawrence) Cameron. He departed this life on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Saint Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 20 days.
He was united in marriage to Gayla Faye Barnard on September 3, 1960 at the Austin Baptist Church, Austin, Missouri.
Donald was a dairy farmer until his retirement 1997. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Archie, Missouri. Donald enjoyed playing cards, listening to blue grass music, watching NASCAR racing, attending tractor pulls and spending time with his family and friends. He grew up in Amsterdam, Missouri before moving to the Austin Community near Archie in the early sixties.
Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Gayla on September 19, 2006; his son, Shane on October 15, 2010; a brother, Lloyd Cameron and his sister, Pat Jones.
Donald is survived by two sons, Dale Cameron and wife, Vicky and Danny R. Cameron all of Archie, Missouri; daughter in law, Terri Horn-Cameron, Harrisonville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin, Alexa, Eliza and Sydney; a brother, Lawrence Cameron, Amoret, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with interment in Austin Cemetery near Archie, Missouri.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
