Mrs. Donieta Fay Adams, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, of Harrisonville, Missouri was born November 17, 1934 in Garden City, Missouri the daughter of Daniel Jacob and Pearl H. (Goodrum) Stoll. She departed this life Friday, January 27, 2006 peacefully at home in her sleep at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 10 days.
On January 19, 1957, Donieta was united in marriage to William Smiley Adams, Jr. in Garden City, Missouri.
Donieta was employed as an optician for Gerry Optical, Kansas City, Missouri until her retirement. She was an active member of Abiding Love Baptist Church, Harrisonville. Although she lost the fight to the devastating disease ALS, it never affected her beautiful spirit and strong faith in God. Her strength and beautiful heart will be forever missed, but never forgotten, by all who knew her.
Besides her parents, Donieta was preceded in death by a brother, Earl and two sisters, Virginia and Katie.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, William S. Adams, Jr. who never left her side; two wonderful children; Brad Adams and wife, Tammy, Castle Rock, Colorado; Susan R. Adams-Bresette and husband, Phillip, Garden City, Missouri; she was loved and adored by her five grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Mo. with interment in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
Family suggests contributions may be made to the A.L.S. Association and may be left at the funeral home.
