Dottie Harter

Dottie Harter of Garden City, Missouri was born March 24, 1932 in Lee's Summit, Missouri the daughter of James Henry and Nettie Ann (Allee) Clarkson. She departed this life on Thursday, February 23, 2017at the home of her daughter in Lebanon, Missouri surrounded by love and family at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 30 days.

On May 6, 1977, Dottie was united in marriage to James Robert "Jim Bob" Harter at his home near Garden City, Missouri.

Dottie was employed as a data entry clerk for The Family Center, Harrisonville, Missouri until her retirement in March of 1993. She enjoyed fishing, deer hunting with Jim Bob, camping, mushroom hunting and going to craft fairs with her sisters. Dottie was a lifelong resident.

Besides her parents, Dottie was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Bob on November 3, 1992; a son, Dennis Brillhart; a daughter, Barbara Sue Brillhart; her brother, Chuck Clarkson;

Dottie is survived by a daughter, Diana Blankenship and husband, Larry, Lebanon, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Anne Courtney, Lamar, Missouri, Christine Hooper, El Dorado Springs, Missouri, Emma Jo Helms, Creighton, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Ruth Clarkson, Raytown, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends.

Graveside service and interment was held Monday, February 27, 2017 at the Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, Missouri.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
