Duane Daniel Grieser

Duane Daniel Grieser, of Garden City, Missouri was born April 8, 1932 in Beemer, Nebraska the son of Benjamin Raymond and Ruby (Erb) Grieser. He departed this life on Wednesday, October 23, 2013surrounded by his family at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 15 days.
On June 6, 1954, Duane was united in marriage to Marilyn Ruth Bachmann in Frazee, Minnesota.
Duane was a dairy farmer in Frazee, Minnesota until he moved to Garden City in 1965 and was a self-employed carpenter until his retirement in 1997. He was an Army veteran and served in Japan during the Korean War. Duane was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Creighton, Missouri and served in many different offices in the church. He loved to fish, hunt, and travel especially to Texas in the winter, to Minnesota in the summer and to Branson. Duane loved to golf and he shot a “hole-in-one” with some friends in Texas. He also enjoyed picking up pecans and shelling them out in late fall each year.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Grieser on April 23, 1972.
Duane is survived by his wife Marilyn Grieser of the home; two sons, Doug Grieser and his wife Becky and Pat Grieser all of Harrisonville, Missouri; a daughter, Linda Sisk and her husband Jim, Garden City, Missouri; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; two step-great-great grandchildren a sister, Barbara Towse, Leawood, Kansas; other relatives and many friends.
Celebration Of Life Service will be held Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.
Cremation with inurnment in the Lutheran Cemetery, Creighton, Missouri at a later date.
The family will receive friends Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
