Duane Eldon Norton of Harrisonville, Missouri was born March 12, 1931 in Arlington, Kansas the Son of Virgil and Florence (Ralph) Norton. He departed this life on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Golden Years, Harrisonville, Missouri at the age of 81 years, 8 months, and 10 days.
On August 25, 1949, Duane was united in marriage to Norma Jean Heidebrecht in Haven, Kansas
Duane was employed by Consolidated Telephone Company in Haven, Kansas. He was later employed by United Telephone Company as District Manager until his retirement. Duane moved to Harrisonville, Missouri in 1970 and was a member of Twin Pines Country Club. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, and enjoyed playing cards.
Besides his parents, Duane was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jean in 2006, daughters Bonnie Jean (Norton) Franse in 2002, and Kathy Jean Norton in 1951.
He is survived by his son Michael Duane Norton, Harrisonville, Missouri; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other family and many friends.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri. Cremation.
Family suggests contributions may be made to the Missouri School of the Deaf.
