Edward Lee Allen

Edward Lee Allen of Garden City, Missouri was born January 8, 1949 in Mountain View, Missouri the son of Clyde Elvin Allen and Ovene Marie (Wallace) Allen Rufenacht. He departed this life on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas at the age of 68 years, 5 months and 17 days.
Ed was employed as a carpenter in commercial construction until his retirement. He proudly served for 4 years in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Ed lived in Mountain View, Missouri in his youth where he developed his love of hunting and fishing. He was of the Baptist faith and will be missed, loved and remembered fondly by anyone he ever met. His country charm was unforgettable.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Allen and his mother, Ovene Rufenacht.
Ed is survived by his son, Eric Allen and wife, Julie, Holden, Missouri; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Cynthia; his sister, Linda Eagleson and her husband, Herb, Garden City, Missouri; his former wife, Jeanne (Dumont) Smith, Portsmouth, Rhode Island; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Clearfork Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
Family suggest in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions may be made to the Patriot Riders and sent in care of Dickey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 432, Harrisonville, Missouri 64701.
