Edward W Rigby passed away on Sept. 15, 2017 from congestive heart failure. Edward was born on December 6, 1923 in Kansas City Missouri to Robert H and Edith M Rigby. He lived his entire life in the Kansas City area. Edward was an Architect designing many banks, office buildings, churches and apartment buildings in a four state area. In 1943, Edward was drafted into the United States Army serving in France, Belgium and Germany. He was a forward observer during the Battle for Ardennes and the Battle of the Bulge. He received four Battle Stars. In 1951, he married Mary Bruer and had three children Mark, Linda and Laura.

Edward loved to travel. He and the family went on a camping trip every summer, seldom to the same place twice. After retirement, Ed and Mary traveled full time for nine months seeing the entire west coast and on up into Canada, then coming back to this area and settling in Peculiar Mo. Edward is survived by his wife Mary , married 65 years, Linda Arzola ( Greg ), Laura ( Robert ) Mark having passed away in 2006, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation was held Tues. Sept. 19, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes, Harrisonville, MO with the funeral at 11 am.

Burial in Orient Cemetery with full military honors.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
