Edwin Eugene Penny, 76, died Saturday June 6, 2016 at his home in Kansas City, Missouri. Edwin was born September 11, 1939 in Hardin, Missouri to Orville and Irene Penny.
As a child, he attended New Hope Church in Stet and was baptized in 1953. Recently, he attended services at Assembly of God. Edwin attended Stet High School for most of his school years. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1958. After graduation, he enrolled in McPherson College.
Edwin spent his life caring for people as a hospital orderly in Denver, Colorado, Seattle, Washington, and Kansas City, Missouri. After retiring, he devoted his time to caring for his friend and helping residents at the Swope Ridge Geriatrics Center. Edwin is survived by a sister, Judith (Keith) Coon of Goodland, Kansas.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the New Hope Cemetery, Hardin, Missouri. Family suggests contributions may be made to New Hope Church memorial fund.
Arrangements are under the care of Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.
