Miss Elizabeth Louella Skelton of Harrisonville, Missouri was born January 24, 1917 in Anderson, South Carolina the daughter of Ira Gordon and Savilla (Brookshire) Skelton. She departed this life Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Golden Years Care Services, Harrisonville at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 14 days.
Elizabeth moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1941 where she received her LPN degree from St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City. She was formerly employed at Spofford Home for Boys and at Willows Hospital both in Kansas City. Elizabeth had no children of her own. She had lived with Asa, her brother, and his family and helped raise two nephews, John and Kenneth. She moved with the family from Kansas City to Peculiar, Missouri in 1975. In 1993, she entered Golden Years Care Services in Harrisonville.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Enoch, Ira Jr., Asa and Starling; a sister, Tabitha Skelton and a nephew, Kenneth Skelton.
She is survived by a sister, Aquilla ""Becky"" Barnett, Greenville, South Carolina; a nephew, John M. Skelton and wife, Barbara, Independence, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Services were held Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Golden Years Care Services, Harrisonville, Missouri.
