Emma Jean Ewing of Harrisonville, Missouri was born February 3, 1946 in Houstonia, Missouri the daughter of William Glenn and Anna I. (Hoch) Hedgpeth. She departed this life on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at her home at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 23 days.
On June 26, 1965, Emma was united in marriage to Bill Wooldridge. Later she was united in marriage to Leroy Ewing on August 1, 1987.
Emma was employed as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service in Lee's Summit, Missouri until her retirement in 1987. She loved dancing, traveling, going on cruises, swimming, being in the sun, playing softball, basketball and anything that involved being outdoors. Emma enjoyed collecting Precious Moments, her girl trips and playing games especially "Hide the Thimble" with her granddaughter, Hannah, who was her greatest joy in life.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents.
Emma is survived by two sons, Mike Wooldridge and wife Angela, De Soto, Kansas, Mark Wooldridge and girlfriend, Tida, Kansas City, Missouri; a granddaughter, Hannah Wooldridge, Warsaw, Missouri; three brothers, Glenn Hedgpeth Jr., Cameron, Missouri, Jerald Hedgpeth, Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Thomas Hedgpeth, Lee's Summit, Missouri; a sister, Joyce Charles, Clinton, Missouri; many nieces and nephews.
Cremation. A Celebration of Life Gathering was held Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Jacobson and McElliott Diabetes and Endocrinology Center at St. Luke's South Hospital.
