Erlene Hines

Erlene Hines, of Kansas City, Missouri was born April 10, 1924 near Garden City, Missouri the daughter of George V. and Inez (Dale) Adams. She departed this life Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 87 years, 1 month and 2 days.
On December 9, 1944, Erlene was united in marriage to Guy Ford Hines.
Erlene was employed as an Accountant with Montgomery Wards, Kansas City for 40 years until her retirement. She enjoyed going to her lake home, fishing, feeding and watching all the different kinds of birds at her home. Erlene loved to plant, grow and take pictures of her own flowers or wild flowers along the road or out in a field. She had lived in Kansas City since her marriage to Guy.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Hines on August 11, 2005 and a son, Robert M. Hines in July 1989.
Erlene is survived by special friends; Frank Kenney, Kansas City, Bob and Linda Theobald, Peculiar, Missouri, Bill and Joyce Gentry, Kansas City, and a nephew Gene Hines and his wife Judy of Prospect, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 17, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
