Eva Jeanette Gudde of Holden, Missouri was born September 10, 1935 in Bogard, Missouri the daughter of Harry Pierson and Louise (Hart) Elliott. She departed this life on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 4 days.
On July 1, 1955, Jeanette was united in marriage to James Edward "Jim Ed" Gudde in Garden City, Missouri. They were married for 49 years before his passing.
After graduating from the Garden City High School, Jeanette was employed for BMA in Kansas City. She was fortunate enough to be a stay at home mother when her children were born. Jeanette enjoyed working beside her husband on the farm gardening and the horses they raised and showed. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Garden City, Missouri, Draft Horse Association, Haflinger Horse Association and the Small Farmers Gathering.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Ed on February 13, 2004; a brother, Chester and a sister, Kay.
She is survived by two sons, J.R. Gudde and wife Janet, John E. Gudde and wife Janice; a daughter, Janelle L. Powell and husband Marty all of Holden, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Charles Elliott, Lee's Summit, Missouri, Larry Elliott, Holden, Missouri, Bobby Elliott and wife Sharon, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Ronnie Elliott, Warsaw, Missouri; 3 sisters, Mary Ellen Bowie, Clinton, Missouri, Dianna Kline and husband Dick, Orlando, Florida, Connie Wille and husband Lyndon, Lake Mary, Florida; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral service were held Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Garden City Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Garden City United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
